We’re shaking things up a bit on Storytime Underground. Due to the amazing amount of questions we’re being asked we’re going to start posting Ask a Ninja Questions on both Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Meet Ellen

Ellen Norton (1)

Ellen is an enthusiastic children’s librarian at the Naperville Public Library. She has worked in public libraries for the past 5 years, four years in a variety of children’s departments serving ages 0-18. She is passionate about all types of programming but is especially fond of storytimes and programs for children 0-5. While she is not in management at her current position, she has managed teen volunteers and a rambunctious fish tank. You can read her book reviews in School Library Journal, and articles in Novelist’s Kids and Books newsletters.

Meet Amadee

Amadee has been a youth services librarian for more than ten years, which is surprising because it seems like no time at all.  She is currently Youth Services Supervisor at a smallish but awesome public library in southwest Colorado, and works with a smallish but excellent staff to present programs for babies to teens.  She likes storytime best of all programs, and toddler storytime best of all storytimes.  She is co-editor of the library job site lislist.com, and very occasionally blogs about storytime and library stuff at libraryamadee.tumblr.com.

Meet Ariel

In just a little over three years as a librarian, Ariel has managed to cram in work in teen services, children’s services, a large urban system, and a single outlet library. She currently works as the big kids librarian (that includes teens and tweens and school age kids, oh my!) in New Braunfels, TX. Her partners in crime include another librarian who focuses on the tiny folks, three full time youth services techs, and a couple of part time youth services clerks, but she isn’t a manager. Find her tweeting @hushlander or sometimes-blogging at https://hushlander.wordpress.com/.
