Maybe you’ve heard of Reach Out and Read; maybe some of the clinics or healthcare providers in your area even participate in Reach Out and Read! (Unsure? Check the map). But if you’ve never explored the website, you are in for a treat!

Blog posts, articles on reading and child development, and research findings about early literacy and Reach Out and Read provide great tidbits you can reference when stakeholders or parents ask why reading to kids is so important. The Resource Center has literacy tips for parents, and suggested books for different ages ranges.

Reach Out and Read also offers links to recent articles and statements, including this one by the American Academy of Pediatrics that includes “partnering with other child advocates,” for the success of the program. YOU GUYS. That’s us. Who knows, maybe you could even be the force behind getting a Reach Out and Read program in your community!
